Notes: In line 1 Idiota asks “Tudo bem?” This is is “How are you?” but literally it means “All [is]
well?” The expected reply is “Tudo bem” – “All [is] well” or “Tudo bom” – “All [is] good.” Another
oft-used greeting is “Como vai?” to which the stock reply is “Bem” or “ Vou bem!”

Examples of the incorrect but much-used usage of te.
| Ei, vem ca que vou te dar a porrada da sua vida. | Hey, come here cause I’m gonna give you the beating of your life. |
“Vem ca” (come here) is conjugated for “você”, then the te pronoun is used, which should be for tu, then “sua” is used which, again, should be used with “você”. One reason for this is that the correct pronouns are often vague. If you say “Eu vou lhe dar uma porrada” you could be saying “I’m going to smack you/him/her.” But if you say “ Eu vou te dar uma porrada” it is clear you are saying “I’m going to smack you.”
